The ReptiSun 10.0 is a high-quality German bulb that emits UVB at a distance of 20/51cm from the surface of the lamp, which is more effective than the 12"/30cm distance of the ReptiSun 5.0 in preventing or reversing metabolic bone disease. This makes it optimal for use in larger terrariums where greater than 12 inches of UVB penetration is needed. Additionally, the ReptiSun 10.0 is recommended for use above screen covers, which can filter out up to 50% of the UVB wavelengths, ensuring that the necessary UVB levels are still provided for the animals. The bulb emits 10% UVB and 30% UVA, which are crucial for the overall health and well-being of reptiles and other captive animals.
